Flava Pot Cuisine was born from a deep-rooted passion for the rich, diverse, and incredibly flavourful cuisine of the Caribbean. With roots stretching back to the vibrant kitchen of my mom, Ma Mae, who was always eager to share the authentic tastes and heartwarming hospitality of her kitchen. A loving mother of twelve children, she was always in the kitchen, whipping up something flavourful, with aroma permeating the surrounding space. Soon, it wasn't just family who gathered around her worn wooden table. People from all corners of the community began to arrive, first out of curiosity, then out of a profound sense of belonging. They came for the food, but they stayed for the warmth and hospitality.

Ma Mae’s kitchen door was perpetually open, a silent invitation to anyone who passed by, drawn in by the tantalizing aromas that wafted down the street. Her kitchen became a hub, a place where laughter echoed, where worries were momentarily forgotten over a plate of Curry Goat, Stewed Peas and Rice, or Oxtail, and where strangers became friends. She didn't just feed their bodies; she nourished their spirits, inspiring them with her generosity and the sheer joy she found in bringing people together through her cooking.

What started as cherished family recipes, lovingly shared at these impromptu gatherings, began to take on a life of its own. The community's demand, fueled by their love for Ma Mae's cooking and the connection it fostered, gently nudged us towards a bigger dream. And so, Flava Pot Cuisine was born – not just a restaurant, but a continuation of Ma Mae's legacy. It is a place where everyone, regardless of their background, can step in and experience the true essence of Jamaican cooking, infused with the same warmth, authenticity, and community spirit that defined Ma Mae’s vibrant kitchen. Her passion, once confined to four walls, now extends its embrace, inviting all to taste the love in every pot.
